Paddy, also called rice paddy, small, level, flooded field used to cultivate rice in southern and eastern Asia. Wet-rice cultivation is the most prevalent method of farming in the Far East, where it utilizes a small fraction of the total land yet feeds the majority of the rural population.

                 What is the process of growing paddy?

• Land preparation: The land should be plowed and leveled to create a smooth, even surface for planting. If necessary, add organic matter or fertilizers to improve soil fertility.
•  Seed selection and preparation: Choose high-quality seeds that are suitable for your climate and soil conditions. Soak the seeds in water for several hours before planting.
• Planting: Plant the soaked seeds in rows or in a broadcasting method, making sure they are evenly spaced. The best time to plant is during the rainy season.
• Irrigation: Paddy requires a lot of water to grow, so make sure the crop is irrigated regularly. You can use a flooded or sprinkler irrigation system
• Weed control: Weeds can compete with the crop for nutrients and water, so it’s important to control them. Use manual or chemical weed control methods.
• Pest control: Paddy can be susceptible to pests and diseases, so monitor the crop regularly and take appropriate measures to control any infestations.
• Harvesting: When the rice grains have turned golden and the moisture content has decreased, it’s time to harvest. Cut the stalks with a sickle or a combine harvester, and then thresh the grains to separate them from the stalks
